Don’t have a car? Live near Munich? Well me too and I’m fed up with hiking guides that say “oh, just start at this car park in the middle of nowhere.” Luckily, we have the trusty BOB (Bayerische Oberlandbahn) train here in Bavaria taking us to a huge number of hiking spots without the hassle of being stuck in traffic. At just 23 Euros plus 5 Euros per person, you can get anywhere in Bavaria and to celebrate this fact, we’ve come up with our top 5 hiking spots with the Bayern Ticket! 5. Tützinger Hütte from Benediktbeuern.
A 6 hour round hike that takes you along a stream and through the forest before ending up at a fantastic chalet restaurant, the Tützinger Hütte.

4. Neureuth from Tegernsee
This has to be my favourite short hike. Just a 3 hour round hike with fantastic views over Tegernsee and a great Hütte at the top!

This is a gorgeous and fairly short hike with rolling hills, stone walls and great challenge at the end which means you have to climb a little to get to the peak. A must-do!

2. Latschenkopf from Brauneck
From Lenggries station, take the bus to Brauneck Bergbahn. From the top of the gondola station there are plenty of hikes to choose from and you can even hike to another of our top hikes, the Tützinger Hütte.

1. Brecherspitz from Fischhausen-Neuhaus
In number one place is the hike to the Brecherspitz! Chosen for its variability, its fantastic views over three lakes and its steep climb to the Gipfelkreuz, this is a hike you need to try out.
